What You Should Know About These 3 Types Of White Contact Lenses
The color around the iris of your eye is always one of the following colors: blue brown, gray, green, and of course, you could have a cobination of colors, and therefore have the eye color hazle, or even an amber color. The part of your eye that's naturally white already is the sclera.
Knowing this when people come across a person who looks like they have white eyes, only showing the pupil of their eye (the black round part) it can freak people out. Mixed feeling arise between a horror movie and some kind of medical disease that would cause this. However, this type of first reaction isn't needed, they are not really a zombie nor do they have a medical condition., as 'white eyes' effect is simply an effect! There is nothing wrong with the person in fact this is the result of a thing called white contact lenses.
What Types Of White Contacts Are There?
So, you might be thinking to yourself, what exactly are white contact lenses? White contact lenses are exactly as they sound, they are a contact lens that makes the eye look like they are white, just as their are other colored contact lenses that can change your eye color, to a different normal color such as blue, or green, or even a wild color such as purple or red, or in this case, white!. There are three different types which I will talk more about below: those with no special effects, and then there are some that glow in the dark, strange but cool, And last, there are the ones that cover the whole eye therefore leaving you blind to see, but can make a great temporary effect.
The Three Different Kinds Of White Contact Lenses
- Out of the three kinds of white contact lenses the kind with no special effects are the most common. They cover only the iris, which allows the pupil of your eye to still show. This type of contact lens can cover up any eye color easily, yes, even the eye colors that are naturally dark. Appearance-wise, this type of contact lens while white is normally not as while as the rest of the eye leaving you looking like you have a very, very light iris.
- The next type of white contact lenses we are going to talk about it glow in the dark contacts! Cool, right?. Just like the last kind of white contacts we talked about, the ones that do not have any special effects. Glow in the dark contacts only cover the iris not the pupil, so you can still see what you are doing. Now if you are looking for a more dramatic appearance you will want the glowing cotacts rather then just the white contact lenses as they are, obviously, more stunning then regular ones.. Because they have this glowing effect a lot of people are looking for them for special events or during holidays like Halloween or even for theatrical use. Now, it is important that you know that the glow in the dark lenses are not corrective in anyway unless they are specifically made that way. Even then they are only corrective lenses and have no other effects but to glow in the dark.
- The last type of white contact enses we are going to talk about are used more rarely then the others for obvious reasons. What these do it make your entire eye appear white. This is because they cover not only the iris like the other contacts but the pupil too, leaving only the sclera to show. There are no correctice lenses with this type of contact. In fact they actuall blind the person while wearing them, that doesn't matter what kind of vision you have. These contacts should be worn with caution, they are great to wear for a short amount of time to create a scary effect of some kind, but like I said, only for a short amount of time..
